Pastor Ben grew up in Arlington, VA. He is a proud graduate of the University of Virginia, but also loves his Hokie congregants. His wife Sarah is from what she calls the greatest country in the world, Texas. Ben graduated from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. and later completed a Master of Science degree in patient counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. Ben worked as a chaplain at VCU hospital for almost two years. Ben was ordained as an Elder in full connection in the Virginia Conference in 2015. His last appointment was at Lane Memorial UMC in Altavista, where he served seven years.
Ben and Sarah are blessed to have three wonderfully different dogs, Maddie, Harper, and Heddy. Ben enjoys exercising, watching, sports, and has a love-hate relationship with chess. Sarah is a licensed professional counselor with a private psychotherapy practice in Lynchburg.
Pastor Ben is passionate about the Great Commission, to love God and to love one’s neighbor, and the Great Commission, to make disciples of Jesus Christ in the world. He enjoys the relational aspects of ministry, growing in Christ together.
