Pastor Michelle was born in a family of 4th generation of Presbyterian churches in Seoul, South Korea. In 1982 Michelle came to the United States after marrying David Kim. In 1984, she received a call from the Lord to become a pastor. After graduating from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Pastor Michelle served two Baptist Churches. Then in 2005, she served the Korean United Methodist Church in the Greater Washington area, where she served for eight years as an associate pastor. In 2012, Michelle was ordained as an Elder in full connection in the Virginia Conference. She then served as pastor of the Arlington Korean United Methodist Church for four years. Recently, she has served at Bethel United Methodist Church and Rehobeth United Methodist Church in the Winchester District.

Pastor Michelle finished Shalem Institute and got her certification of Spiritual direction and achieved the Doctor of Ministry majoring the Spirituality and Ministry at Wesley Theological Seminary, in 2006. Pastor Michelle emphasizes the importance of the spiritual life of the congregation and serves the church with the vision of becoming a shepherd following Jesus.
